Reporting Out

 

Level 1: Quest 4 and Level 4: Quest 2 allow you to report out to a designated person your badges earned at that time and the input you submitted for each quest associated with those badges earned!

You will not have access to the Level 1 reporting out function until you complete at least Level 1. You can use that reporting out function in Level 1 to report out your badges earned in Level 2 and/or Level 3.

You will not have access to the Level 4 reporting out function until you complete all Levels.

You can report out as many times and/or persons as needed or are required by your school official.

Optional: Learn Even More

Optional opportunities to learn even more are provided in several quests. They are optional but do allow you to extend your knowledge on that particular topic. There is no additional Quest or Reward badges associated with any Learn Even More opportunities.

Quest Badges

Level 1 Badge: Character

Level 1:

In this collection of lessons you will unravel the unique characteristics of online courses along with an overview of the types of online courses you may be taking. You will file a preliminary report of your basic understanding of the case for online learning and will designate the individuals to be notified of that report.

  Quest Badge: Identification

Identification: Investigate your personal identification! Examine misconceptions about online learning and consider the skills and qualities that will make you succeed. Approx. 17 min. to complete.

In this first badge, you’re going to consider whether online learning is right for you. You look at who you are as a learner, and what it takes to be successful in the online environment. There are definite challenges, and there are also some myths we need to debunk.

Level 2 Badge: Tools

Level 2:

In these lessons, you will crack the important skills needed to be successful in an online course. We’ll cover basic computer skills, communication protocols, and the heart and soul of many online courses – the discussion forum.

  Quest Badge: Deduction

Deduction: Reason out some technology concepts as you determine what you need for online learning. Approx. 15 min. to complete.

side from not having to lug around a backpack or books to an online course, there are a few things that you're going to need in order to be successful in an online course. A reliable computer, a browser, a trusty Internet connection, and some basic productivity software are gotta haves. There are other considerations, and will work through those in a series of quests for this badge.

  Quest Badge: Skillfulness

Skillfulness: Analyze how you will decipher your technical and communication skillfulness in the online classroom. Approx. 20 min. to complete.

In an online course, there are a surprising number of people to communicate with.  But before that, you'll need to put your technical skills to work. This badge will help you recognize what is appropriate in terms of communication and the technology you'll use to make it happen.

Level 3 Badge: Scene

Level 3:

During these lessons, you’ll theorize how you can get familiar with your new online course and start constructing an organizational system that will keep you successful.

  Quest Badge: Systematic

Systematic: Examine the premises about different forms of online courses and explore possibilities. Approx. 10 min. to complete.

There are different types of online courses. You will consider the types of courses and take a look behind-the-scenes to see what's right for you.

  Quest Badge: Regimented

Regimented: Break down a regiment of what you need for organizational, time management, and study skills. Approx. 15 min. to complete.

To be a first rate player in the world of online education, you are going to need impeccable organizational, time management, and study skills. These next quests will help you with those skill sets.

Level 4 Badge: Clue In

Level 4:

You have gathered all your evidence and are ready to file your final report. You will designate individuals, such as your guidance counselor and parent/guardian to be notified of your successful completion of all activities and levels of the TxVSN CLUE IN Orientation to Online Learning.

  Quest Badge: Case Closed

Case Closed: Time to report your final findings! Approx. 5 min. to complete.

By the process of deduction and good plain common sense, you have identified the core principles through your quests to solve the mystery of online learning.

If any reward badges are being earned at the direction of your school’s program requirements make sure and earn them before you send out that notification of your successful completion.

Click on the Reward Badge link located in the top right corner of the logged in site view, and then, click on the appropriate Reward badge you are targeting to earn. Complete each Reward badges by following the same directions as Completing a Quest and Level.

Each Reward badge completed is awarded a badge independent of each Reward, Quest badge or Level.
